Intro to Design

Cory Moore’s entrepreneurial journey began at the age of 14 with his first job laying mulch for his father’s successful landscape design-build firm. Growing up in a design-build environment, Cory had the opportunity to learn under some of Florida’s best landscape architects, honing his skills and perfecting his craft. His hands-on experience expanded when he worked for a luxury pool builder, where he gained in-depth knowledge of pool construction and high-end outdoor environments.

Sales Experience

Cory then pursued higher education at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) while working part time at Bass Pro Shops. Within just two months, he became the highest-grossing sales associate in the nation, a result of discovering the power of product knowledge in sales. This experience ignited his passion for understanding buying psychology and perfecting the art of selling.

Entry Into Luxury Lighting

His career took a pivotal turn when he transitioned into luxury residential architecture, starting as a low-level draftsman. In just 24 months, he rose to Vice President of Sales & Operations, fueled by his discovery of the power of asking the right questions in sales. During his time in luxury architecture, Cory identified a glaring gap in the luxury market—landscape lighting design and installation. Recognizing the opportunity, he dedicated 12 months to mastering the craft before launching Beacon Outdoor Lighting.

Beacon Outdoor Lighting Is Born

In Beacon’s first year, while still working full-time in architecture, Cory generated over $500K in business. Once he committed fully to Beacon, the company experienced rapid growth, more than doubling in size each year. Today, as the Owner and CEO, Cory has led Beacon Outdoor Lighting to complete thousands of estate lighting projects across South Florida. With an exceptional sales team, the company has surpassed $350K/per month, allowing Cory to build a multiple seven-figure business in less than five years.

Work & Adventure Combine

In 2024, with the encouragement of his wife, Morgan Moore (co-owner of Beacon Outdoor Lighting), Cory and his family embarked on a full-time travel adventure across the U.S., visiting over 30 states and three countries—all while continuing to scale Beacon. During this time, Cory discovered a deeper passion: training and mentoring his team to achieve new heights.

It Starts with a Spark

During his travels, an old colleague from his architecture days approached Cory about replicating his lighting business model in Colorado. Cory dedicated months to coaching and consulting, helping his friend go from struggling to closing $50K projects and experiencing consistent month-over-month growth. Witnessing this transformation sparked a new mission—helping others dominate in the landscape lighting industry.

Light Launch is Born

Thus, Light Launch was born—a consulting, coaching, and training firm designed to help landscape lighting professionals and green industry entrepreneurs close bigger deals, increase revenue, and gain more freedom in their businesses. Seeing firsthand how this knowledge changed lives, Cory is now on a mission to help others achieve similar success. He has since consulted many industry professionals, helping them reach new heights in their businesses. Cory is a two-time WAC Contractor of the Year and has been featured in numerous publications, including Florida Design Magazine.
