Exciting Naples Outdoor Lighting project
The Mediterranean Marvel is one of our most memorable landscape lighting projects in Naples, marking a major milestone for Beacon in Port Royal. Its impact was immediate—after completion, five neighboring estates enlisted our services to upgrade their own landscape lighting systems.
During our initial consultation, the homeowner expressed frustration with their low-voltage lighting system, installed just two years prior. They had faced ongoing issues and were never truly satisfied with the illumination. After understanding their concerns, we presented two solutions: repair and refine the existing system or execute a complete lighting overhaul for a fresh, optimized design.Medi
Given the homeowner’s dissatisfaction with the existing design, our team crafted a comprehensive lighting plan tailored to their vision. Ultimately, they opted for a complete system overhaul to achieve a more refined and immersive lighting experience.
Architectural & Landscape Illumination
We began by illuminating the majestic oak trees surrounding the property, particularly near high-traffic areas. This not only enhanced safety but also created a dramatic approach to the estate.
For the front elevation, we used fully adjustable fixtures to fine-tune beam spread and lumen output. This flexibility was essential to ensure balanced illumination across the home’s varied textures, colors, and finishes.
Courtyard Ambiance
The courtyard near the front entrance had a fairy-tale charm, requiring a thoughtful approach to prevent glare from affecting the surrounding living spaces. We achieved this by integrating:
- Path lights to highlight key landscape features.
- Intermittent uplights on unique foliage.
- Subtle aquatic lighting, creating a soft glow that reflected beautifully around the courtyard.
Garage & Gatehouse Enhancements
At the private gatehouse entrance, we cast uplighting into the arch of the arcade, allowing light to cascade onto the surrounding hardscape. For added safety, we illuminated a nearby retaining wall with strip lighting under the capstone, ensuring visibility in the garage area. Subtle uplighting on fishtail palms provided functional yet elegant lighting.
Versatile Rear Living Space Lighting
Understanding the homeowner’s love for entertaining, we designed multiple lighting configurations for the rear living space. This allowed for different scenes to match any occasion:
- Full illumination for events – activating bistro lights, pergola downlights, aquatic lighting, and faux flame sconces to create a lively, well-lit atmosphere.
- Relaxed evening ambiance – limiting the setup to faux flame sconces and subtle landscape lighting, perfect for a tranquil outdoor retreat.
By combining functionality with artistry, this lighting transformation elevated the estate’s ambiance, safety, and flexibility—ensuring the homeowner could enjoy their outdoor spaces in any setting, from grand gatherings to quiet evenings at home.
