Modern Dream Home

The Modern Dream Home was a distinctive and rewarding landscape lighting project, located at the intersection of Park Shore and Moorings in Southwest Florida. When the homeowner reached out, they shared that a landscape lighting system had been installed just a year prior when the home was built. However, they were dissatisfied with the design, citing brightness issues, uneven lighting, and a lack of harmony with the home’s unique architectural style.

After discussing their concerns, the homeowner entrusted us with full creative control to redesign the lighting system.

To start, we illuminated the front architecture with twelve adjustable wall washes, creating an even yet subtle wash of light across the façade. Given the mix of flat white stucco, stone veneer, and dark tile, using adjustable fixtures was essential to balance the illumination—compensating for the way dark matte surfaces absorb light while lighter, glossy surfaces reflect it.

Next, we addressed another key issue: outdated coach lights that clashed with the home’s modern aesthetic. We replaced them with sleek, contemporary fixtures by Modern Forms, installing them at the entryway and garage to seamlessly complement the home’s design.
